Photography Exhibition: Destination 目的地
What is “destination” to you?
Where is your “destination”?
From March 6 to 9, 2019, Viewfinder Photography Club curated a photography exhibition featuring this common yet unique idea, “Destination”.
To many, it could mean a geographical place, a spot on the world map, may it also be homeland, or simply the home with your beloved ones.
Apart from being one of the main curators of this exhibition,
Voyou au Lait was also lucky enough to have two pieces exhibited.
“Ru · 旅”
The word “Ru” in French means a small stream, or flow - of blood, tears, or money. It was also the title of a novel written by the Vietnamese-born Canadian, Kim Thúy. While her volatile life experience as an immigrant resonates with my multi-cultural one, the meaning of “ru” echoes with each of my voyage, may it be long or short. This photo was taken when canoeing in Quinata Roo, Mexico. Though floating on water, i have arrived at my destination of being fearless enough to paddle, boats against the current.
“Unknown 未知”
这张照片拍摄于北京的松美术馆,正值夏末,是留学生满天乱飞的时节。这一架,也去多伦多吗?
Here are some snaps taken during the exhibition.
Photos of me taken by Grace Ni that are also exhibited.
