This studio photoshoot was a debut for both photographer Grace Ni and myself. The photo-shooting took place in December 2018, at her own home studio.

Coming from a strictly academic background, i get trapped from time to time, trying to insert a logical meaning to everything i do and convey.

Thanks to people like Grace who invokes my inner romanticist and prove with action that things aren’t always rational. They are often… sensational.

She would throw out sentences like “give me a look as if you’re in the void”, “you shouldn’t care about anything”, “arrogant but empty look please”. I’m very thankful to be born with fine sensibility so it isn’t hard for me to capture her meanings.

The truth is, you don’t hear exactly as one says, you hear as one means.
